NFL ridiculously early predictions: projecting the Green Bay Packers Season

(Note from Wayniac Nation regular contributor Dunton: So I have created a monster. My 9-year old daughter has become an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. I can’t be mad at her for liking the Packers, they are a classy organization. She found out that Wayne (Texans of course), myself (Bucs) and others were making predictions for how our favorite NFL teams would fare this fall. So here are her predictions, I only helped with spelling and some grammar. Wayne did some minor editing but these are her words. I am especially fond of the Week 8 prediction when she realized it was right around Halloween. So here you go, remember she loves the Packers and is nine (almost 10).)

Where oh where will Arian Foster land?

There is no hiding my affection for Arian Foster. He is the greatest running back in the history of my favorite football team. It was sad to see him go, but I also thought it was the right thing the Houston Texans had to do.

A few months back, Foster had a preliminary visit with the Miami Dolphins. Admittedly, Foster himself said that he is still a month away from being ready for football action, and thus he left Miami without a contract.

So where will Arian Foster land?

The NFL QB offseason circus

There has seemingly been a lot of talk about quarterbacks this offseason, hasn’t there? Over the past few weeks, I haven’t been innocent of ignoring the quarterback circus myself. First I looked at what many are deeming the worst move of the offseason — I’m looking at you Pro Football Focus — and the Houston Texans signing of Brock Osweiler. Then I took a look at the RGIII signing in Cleveland, and the ensuing QB Carousel that somehow made Mark Sanchez the starting quarterback of the defending World Champions. Last week, I dissected the fact that we are now in a day where we don’t know who the best QB in the land is, so I asked the all important question: Who is the NFL’s best quarterback?

This week a few other quarterbacks are popping up in the headlines, so I may as well continue with the offseason trend, right?

Who’s the best quarterback in the NFL in 2016?

It’s a weird time in the NFL. When the conversation arose about who the best quarterback in the NFL was, for nearly the past 20 years, it often came down to a heated Peyton Manning against Tom Brady argument. Aaron Rodgers and his insane dislike of throwing interceptions would enter the mix, Andrew Luck and his rising star power would find his name in the conversation and Drew Brees is, well, Drew Brees.

It’s a different day. Manning is retired. Brady is likely missing four games this season. Luck is a huge question mark in how — and if — he will bounce back from injury with a much less talented roster than he once had. Rodgers is coming off arguably his worst season of his career. And Drew Brees is, well, Drew Brees. He’s 37-years old and at some point, you have to think he’s going to lose it, right?

So in this day and age, where Blake Bortles is already entering the debate of the Top Ten QBs in football, who is numero uno?

Monday reflections: The Houston Texans 2016 draft

The Houston Texans have been able to quietly rebuild this franchise over the past two seasons without having to tear the walls down completely. Bill O’Brien came in and laid a foundation and slowly worked each one of Gary Kubiak‘s system guys out of town. They seemed to be heading in the right direction until a colossal meltdown in the playoffs.

OB and Rick Smith came into this offseason wanting a new offense. While the defense lost a few parts, there was enough depth that they could overlook that area and get help for DeAndre Hopkins and their new quarterback Brock Osweiler. It’s safe to say the days of grinding out the ball on the ground and letting Arian Foster run out the clock seem to be long gone.

THE 2016 NEW YORK GIANTS: RIDICULOUSLY EARLY PREDICTIONS

Here is my take on the NY Football Giants 2016 season based on the NFL schedule that was just released.  Albeit crazy early, the Giants will be an improved team, however making the playoffs will mean having to win the NFC East, and that in all likelihood will not happen for this seasons team.
