DII football: West Florida head coach Pete Shinnick visits the DII Nation Podcast

This week on the DII Nation Podcast, West Florida football head coach Pete Shinnick discusses the return to DII football.

Shinnick, a two-time national coach of the year, has led the Argos to two DII football championship games in the past four years. Why is that so remarkable?

The West Florida football program started four years ago.

In just their second season of existence, the Argos reached the national championship game, losing to Texas A&M-Commerce. Two years later, they returned — the first unseeded team to do so in the new format — and won in record-setting fashion.

Shinnick joins hosts Wayne Cavadi and Bethany Bowman to discuss his star quarterback, what it means to get back to DII football after a year off, the power of the Gulf South Conference, and a little bit about his golf game.
