Here are a few accomplishments I am most proud of:
- Just a few months into my writing career, I was able to cover the 2015 SEC gymnastics championships for the national publication, The Advocate out of New Orleans. It was the first time my by-line read “Special to,” and I won’t lie, I felt pretty special.
DULUTH, Ga. — LSU headed into the Arena at the Gwinnett Center as the No. 2 seed in the Southeastern Conference gymnastics championships, poised to bring home its first title in 34 years.
But LSU fell short of that elusive championship as Alabama won its second consecutive title, outscoring the Tigers 197.525 to 197.425. Florida finished third at 197.400 (continue to the full article).
- I covered the 2015 NCAA Golf Championships. It was a grueling seven-day affair in the intense heat of the Florida summer. I was able to watch a young Bryson DeChambeau out of SMU take the individual title and made him laugh twice in the three interviews I was able to grab. This one was caught on video by SMU.
- In the summer of 2018, I headed to a Tennessee Smokies game to scout some prospects. Unexpectedly, it was announced that Kris Bryant would be rehabbing. Not only was I able to interview Bryant, I caught this home run on video and posted to Twitter:
Welcome back Kris Bryant. 3-for-4, 3 RBI and this home run. #Cubs pic.twitter.com/UV4mFCmyYD

It blew up pretty quickly and was used on several news outlets:

- I was able to talk to the legendary Isiah Thomas on a player he had coached at FIU that went onto lead DII basketball in scoring. I still get many compliments on this piece on Shorter’s Phil Taylor and am very proud of it.
- I have been asked to be the expert on a variety of selection shows for the NCAA. You can watch me do the DII football selection show as well as the DII men’s and women’s basketball tournament selection shows archived on the NCAA Championships YouTube page.
