Seriously. This may be my favorite commercial. Ever.

Kansas City Royals are on top of the World (Series at least)
Simply put, that was a great World Series. The Kansas City Royals trailed in EVERY game of the Fall Classic, yet somehow won this World Series without an inkling of a doubt, four games to one. The past two nights were just about as exciting as October (and November) baseball can get.
Read on for reflections of the Kansas City Royal’s magical run to the top

A College basketball preview
Sometimes as a writer, you find a story that is so unique and surreal, that you simply don’t believe that it could be true. Sometimes you hope you are the one lucky enough to write about it.
Unbeknownst to most, there are two Augustana Vikings basketball teams in the nation. One hails from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and the other is in Rock Island, Illinois. One is in Division II and the other is in Division III. Both are entering the 2015-16 season as No.1 in the preseason polls.
That’s not even the half of it. Tom Billeter, head coach of the DII Augustana UNIVERSITY (SD) Vikings and Grey Giovanine, head coach of the DIII Augustana COLLEGE (Ill.) Vikings started their coaching career together under the tutelage of legendary Arizona Wildcat’s head coach Lute Olsen’s top assistant Scott Thompson. Their five years at Rice University began a friendship that is still strong today.
Billeter’s Vikings came out of nowhere to go 31-3 last year, win both their conference and conference tournament, before being ousted by one point in the regionals of the NCAA tourney. Giovanine’s squad went 27-5, losing in the championship game. Both coach’s teams have a pretty large chip sitting on their shoulder heading into this season.
I was lucky enough to sit down with both coach Billeter and Giovanine and talk about their past together and their present, as they set to open the college basketball season. The story is as good as it sounds, folks, so check out the interview only at NCAA.com by clicking on the link below:
The NFL Rundown with SBJ: About that -9, Tyson…
Two primetime games didn’t exactly go as SBJ foresaw. Let him tell you how he feels about it.
Sic em, Bauta and other random Friday thoughts…
The Georgia Bulldogs are making a switch this weekend in one of the oldest and most heated rivalries in sports. Tom Brady is good, and the Patriots are heading for a repeat. Turns out it doesn’t matter how little air the NFL’s best QB needs in his balls.
The WN Fantasy Football Report: Week 8 Starts and Sits
This is a big week for me in Fantasy Football. Sitting at 6-1 in two of my leagues and being in first or second in points in both, a victory unofficially locks up the last seed playoff spot. It would mean that over the next five weeks, I would only have to worry about one win to guarantee a good playoff spot. You can bet I am focused on the right picks this week.

Some things make me laugh. Others make me scratch my head. And some things just make you go hmmmm (who’s old enough for that C and C Music Factory reference?)
The WN Fantasy Football Report: Is Rishard Matthews a must start?
I love the fact that people turn to me for fantasy football advice. The ultimate reward is that the same people have kept coming back to me for the better part of three years. Where I once felt a lot of pressure to make sure I got the right people in their lineup, or told them to hold off on a trade that didn’t make sense, I’ve grown confident in my projections. For that, I thank you.
That’s why I try to choose some of the questions that are frequently asked of me in a post. Maybe you, dear reader, are pondering the same thing. Can you go to CBS Sportsline? Sure. NFL.com? Absolutely. They are reliable, to an extent, but they are aimed to the masses, rarely discussing the little guys that can be that ultimate x-factor. I’m just like you. I’m a fantasy geek that has been at this for 18 years, and when I look at a player, I see a number, not an athlete.
This isn’t real football, this is all about numbers. I don’t care about pedigree, I don’t care about wing span or how sick a one-handed catch you can make. All I care about is results.
Is it time to put Rishard Matthews into your lineup for good?
This is going to be a great World Series!
You got to hand it to the Mets, folks. Win or lose, they certainly are involved in some of the more exciting World Series ball games of all time. Last night’s doozie from The K included an inside-the-parker, a network blackout, a Bill Buckner-esque scare on the night of the anniversary of the ’86 Mets win, a game-tying bottom of the ninth-home run and a walk-off sac fly win in the 14th. And there are six games left…
