The Wayniac Nation NFL Power Rankings: Falcons or Patriots?

Two teams left. One is a Super Bowl stalwart, making their seventh trip to the big game this millennium. The other? Not many expected the Atlanta Falcons to be there. But they are, making their first trip since the 1998 season.

The Wayniac Nation NFL Power Rankings: Championship Weekend

The final four teams are left standing in the NFL. Four great quarterbacks — and three MVP candidates — will provide for an exciting Championship Weekend.

And then there were eight.

Despite the world over complaining about the Brock Osweiler and Connor Cook matchup in the first game of this year’s NFL Playoffs, none of the three remaining games on the weekend were all that competitive. There were no upsets as all four home teams advanced, setting up this coming weekend’s Divisional Round.

For four teams, the season came to an end. They are locked in slots nine through twelve as we inch closer to our final Power Rankings of the season.

The Wayniac Nation NFL Power Rankings: Playoff style

Well, here we are. It’s hard to believe but the NFL Playoffs are upon us. Twelve¬†teams are left playing, all with the same goal. Which teams have the best shot?

The beauty of the playoffs is that anything can happen. Although with some of the quarterbacks in this postseason, it seems like some teams face an impossible challenge.

Remember, we switch formats this week moving forward. The past five weeks we have given you each conference’s Power 5 and one Honorable Mention. This week, and for the rest of the season, we give you the Top 12, playoff teams only.

So, how did they fall?

The Wayniac Nation NFL Power Rankings: A shakeup in the NFC

The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers are grooving. So much so that they may have changed the landscape of the entire NFC playoff race. The AFC only has one big change… but it is seeing the reigning Super Bowl champions fall out of the top six.

The Wayniac Nation NFL Power Rankings: NFC up for grabs

I fought Dunton for the past three weeks. He was whole-heartedly convinced that the Oakland Raiders were the best of the AFC. I continuously pled my case that the New England Patriots are the best team in the NFL, and they have no reason to not be in the top slot.

Last week, we finally moved the Raiders into the top spot. And, on cue, they lost a big matchup, becoming the biggest fallers of the week (don’t worry, it wasn’t that far).

NFL Power Rankings: Welcome to Raider Nation

The Miami Dolphins are consistent. Every time they do something right, and I go and try to give them credit, they show how awful a football team they truly are. They started a six-game win streak with an impressive win over the Steelers, and then reeled off five in a row against some pretty bad football teams. Dunton and I put them in our Power Rankings as the Honorable Mention and lo and behold, they don’t even show up.

I’m done trying to believe in these guys. You won’t hear any more positive from me on the Phins, I promise.

Wayniac Nation NFL Power Rankings: Raiders, Pats, and Birds OH MY!

There were some slight changes in this week’s power rankings. A few teams flip-flopped, one team got bounced, and we added the new feature: the honorable mention.

Wayniac Nation NFL Power Rankings: Seahawks soaring, Cowboys still riding high

Well, last week we took a lot of heat for daring to put the Tennessee Titans into the AFC’s five-slot. It was hard not to behind that electric offense. But lo and behold, it seems we were wrong as they dropped a huge game to the division-rival Indianapolis Colts, giving them the advantage for second place in the AFC South. That being said, the Titans are the only team with a positive point differential in that horrendous division, but still, they should have beat the Colts.

Wayniac Nation NFL Power Rankings

Last week, Dunton and I released the first ever Wayniac Nation Power Rankings. Some of the teams betrayed us this week. Other teams surprised us and entered the charts. Remember, we are doing an AFC and NFC Power Rankings separately until the playoffs commence, at which point it will become a comprehensive power rankings.
