Major League Baseball has a rich history of two sport stars. Some were as big as Neon Deion and Bo Jack, others — like Brian Jordan — didn’t steal the spotlight, but were still impressive. Since Henson hung up the baseball cleats back in 2004, the art of the two-sport superstar has all but disappeared.
Tom Brady is at it again. He is having another one of those Brady seasons that seems like he is some sort of robot that is nearly flawless in his execution. He has the best quarterback rating in the NFL at 111.1 and has amassed 3,043 yards passing to go along with 24 TDs and a mere three interceptions. The Pats are the best team in football… again. You would think Tom Brady is a runaway with the NFL MVP Award.
Sunday night baffled a lot of people with that high scoring affair between two stout defenses. But it had nothing on Monday night’s stunner. SBJ is back with full disclosure of what went right and wrong in last week’s prime time games.
When Robinson Cano left the New York Yankees, he felt the wrath of many fans. And coaches. Former hitting instructor Kevin Long lashed out about how lazy he was and that he wasn’t a team player. I defended Robbie for a long time, saying that the Yankees biggest mistake was letting him get away. Maybe I was wrong…
You see that? It’s the light at the end of the tunnel. Not only are there a mere three weeks left until fantasy football playoff pictures become crystal clear, but this is the last week of byes! No more tricky “who should I start for Tom Brady?” questions. That team you drafted back in August will be ready to play as you imagined they would three months ago.
Hopefully, at least. The injury bug hit again last week. New starters have taken the reigns from old ones. Well, look at that. I guess we aren’t out of the woods just yet.
The Cleveland Browns are 2-8. Their season has gone into the toilet bowl as they sit at 2-8. Despite a solid season by Josh McCown, head coach Mike Pettine has made the choice to go with Johnny Manziel for the rest of the season. While I think it is the right choice for the Browns, what does it mean for your fantasy team down the stretch?
“Our goal was to come out here and make the Red Rifle look like a Red Ryder BB gun,” J.J. Watt said.
It seems people have taken great exception to this quote. Some of my friends have called Watt a punk for his statements. He made Andy Dalton — the Red Rifle in question — very sad after the game, which in turn made me laugh.
Yesterday was a rough day for Denver Broncos and New York Giants fans. The fanbases of both teams were able to rejoice early on in their teams games, but both would eventually turn sour on the day. Sitting right in the heart of each performance were the two quarterbacks — Eli Manning and Peyton Manning — as we may be watching the fall of NFL’s regal sons.
