NFL SUNDAYS WITH SBJ: THE SEARCH FOR MY HOME TEAM – PART III

(Note from the editor: Over the past season and a half, SBJ has put money in your pockets. His numbers speak for themselves. He has, however, done it behind a veil of mystery. This series has opened the door to the inner mind of SBJ, who he is football-wise and why he is that way. It is the endearing story of fandom lost, but found yet again. Be sure you catch up with the series if you haven’t here in Part I and here in Part II. Then, go make yourself some money.)

Mandeville, Louisiana was now home number four in just under my tenth year of existence. Of all the sociological transitions we made over those early years this would by far be the hardest to adjust to academically.

I can still remember the knot in my stomach growing tighter like a constrictor, once I could hear the high pitched squeal of the school bus brakes grinding to a depressing halt at the corner of my street.

FanDuel Fee – Week 9 DFS Picks

Welcome to Week 9 of the NFL season.  There are a ton of byes this week so we have to dig deep to come up with the unique lineups for GPP play.  For Cash games, there seems to be an agreement of paying up for RBs and finding value at WRs this week.  Picks are for Main Slate only unless otherwise noted.  Let’s get to it:

Read on for more of FanDuel Fee’s winning DFS picks.

NFL RUNDOWN WITH SBJ: THE SEARCH FOR MY HOME TEAM – PART II

My very first organized sports experience was playing T-Ball, at the age of seven in Flower Mound, Texas. We were the Cubs, despite the fact that our uniforms were yellow. I played first base, and chose number three in honor of the current Texas Ranger first baseman at the time Pete O’Brien. He played first, like me, and he had an Irish surname, so I was sold on my favorite number from the get go.

The WN Fantasy Football Report: Week 9 Starts and Sits

Six more byes this week. The teams resting Week 9 are pretty big time as well when it comes to fantasy. Ready for who you are without this week?

Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, LaGarrette Blount, Julian Edelman, Lamar Miller, DeAndre Hopkins, Jeremy Hill, Giovani Bernard, A.J. Green, Carson Palmer, David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Jordan Howard, Alshon Jeffrey, Jamison Crowder, Kirk Cousins, Jordan Reed.

Got all that? Don’t worry, we got you covered.

The Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott and the Point/ Counterpoint game

I’m not envious of the Dallas Cowboys. They are faced with a decision that could change the course of their franchise. Teams have done it before. The Giants let Phil Simms walk in favor of Jeff Hostetler. Kurt Warner became a Hall of Fame caliber quarterback at the expense of Trent Green. Twice, Drew Bledsoe has been “Wally Pipp-ed”, first by Tom Brady and then by Tony Romo.

So, is Tony Romo about to be Romo-ed?

I couldn’t answer the question alone. I called upon our own fantasy expert Saucy T to shine some light on one side of the arguement, while I take care of the other.

The WN Fantasy Football Report: Starts and Sits

Six byes this week.

This week's Very Important Puzzler is comedian Lewis Black.
SIX!!!

That is a ridiculous amount of byes, leaving just a few games to be played this week. Add in the mounting injuries, or maybe not injuries by game time (see the Buffalo Bills irresponsible handling of Shady McCoy), and there is a lot of work to be done this week.

As usual, we got ya covered.

The Houston Texans need to get the Brock out of here

The season has been brutal for Houston Texans fans. Yes, Arian Foster was released — and now retired in a uniform that wasn’t Houston’s — but that pain has been relieved by Lamar Miller. Yes, J.J. Watt and Kevin Johnson — and now Derek Newton — are out for the year, but the pain has been alleviated by a surprisingly still strong defense and the return of Duane Brown.

No, the Texans faithful — and you know our faithfulness when we pack out Reliant after the years we have put up with — have had to endure the Brock Osweiler Era. It is one that has gone from bad to worse in a course of seven games.

And it has to end now.
