The WN Fantasy Football Report: Week 11 Starts and Sits

Back again with you for our weekly Fantasy Football analysis. It is Week 11. You should have a feel of whether your team is playoff bound or not. If you are on the fence, sitting at .500 or maybe one game under, your playoffs have already started. That makes the correctness of every move imperative.

That’s what we are here for. Check out our experts Starts and Sits.

Dunton:

Starts:

QB- Marcus Mariota is playing at another level right now and has the Titans in the playoff mix. This week the Colts welcome the red hot Titans and their defense is very accommodating to guests of late. Get Marcus in your lineup

RB-This week has many player beware RB matchups. Bell is taking on the Browns so that of course is really enticing but going further down the list I like Blount to snatch some goal line chances against the 49ers. It worked for him last week with his three TDs.  Try it again if you dare.

WR-Devante Adams. Josh Norman can’t guard Jordy and Devante and he will probably take on the task of Jordy. If he does it leaves Devante a great chance to secure a ton of looks and catches. This week is basically the Packers Waterloo so it’s all or nothing. Adams may put the Pack faithful at ease for this week.

Sits:

QB-I have been high on Jameis Winston the past few weeks but not this week. KC’s defense is tough and Jameis will be running for his life against that D line. Not a good week for the Bucs second year QB.

RB-I told you earlier that this week had some tough RB matchups. Jay Ajayi has been one of the hottest RBs going the past few weeks but against a tough Rams D he may have some quiet numbers this week in comparison. Ajayi could be a risky start.

WRAJ Green against the Bills D could go either way but I am banking on a quiet day from AJ. He looked tired (if that is a condition) on MNF against the Giants and the Bills are a stronger D. Try another WR if you can.

Teddy Ballgame:

Starts:

QB-Marcus Mariota has been on fire lately, I think there is no doubt that he is the real deal. I expect him to put up huge numbers on the road against The Colts.

RB-LeGarrette Blount and the Pats are headed to San Francisco to face the lowely Niners. After they put up a few TDs they will pound the rock and he should have huge numbers.
WR-Marvin Jones and the Detroit Lions are coming off a bye week to face the Jaguars.Marvin had a few down weeks before there bye, but there’s nothing like facing Jacksonville to put up some big numbers.

TE-CJ Fiedorowicz has emerged as one of Brock Osweiler’s favorite targets.Oakland has been awful against opposing TE and since Osweiler can’t throw the ball down the field he will probably dump it off to him all day.

Sits:

QB-Carson Palmer has been having a down year to say the least. I think it will be hard to trust any of the Cardinals with the exception of David Johnson against a tough Minnesota defense on the road.

RB- Ryan Matthews seems like he won back the starting job this past weekend . I think it will be very tough sledding on the road in Seattle, if they get behind Sproles will probably get the bulk of the work in the passing game.

WR- Jeremy Kerley has without a doubt become Kaepernick’s favorite target. New England’s defense always takes away the opposing teams number one target.

Saucy T

Starts:

QB – Cam Newton– Thursday night games are usually not high scoring affairs or good for fantasy production, but the Saints defense is that bad. If you’ve held on to Cam through his struggles, he will reward you this week with a top 5 performance.

RB – James Starks– With the exception of a game or two, the Packers offense hasn’t been clicking on all cylinders in 2016. A large part of that is they have become very one dimensional. Ty Montgomery has had great fantasy performances, but it hasn’t saved their overall offensive production. I expect Green Bay to lean on Starks as a more traditional running back now that he’s healthy. Starks can be that RB that will save your fantasy season this week and going forward.

WR – DeSean Jackson– On the other side of that Packers-Redskins matchup, DeSean Jackson is getting healthy at the perfect time. The Redskins finally have a decent enough running game with Rob Kelley for some balance. The Packers defense has been good against the run though, which means Washington will look to air it out against Green Bay’s banged up secondary. Jackson steps right back into fantasy WR2 production this week.

Sits:

QB – Russell Wilson– Wilson has finally started to look like himself the last couple of weeks, but the Eagles defense is for real. They will test his mobility early and often. Wilson’s rest of season value is trending up, but I would try to stay away from starting him this week.,

RB – Ryan Mathews– Mathews had his best game of the year last week against Atlanta, and you might be looking to start him in another slugfest this week against Seattle, but don’t. Mathews usage has been up and down this year and he is too risky to trust against a Seattle team finally getting back to full strength on defense.

WR – Jarvis Landry – For all the talk from the Dolphins last week about wanting to get Landry more involved in the offense, he only had 6 catches for 53 yards. Landry’s value used to come from the short passing game the Dolphins would use in place of a running game. With the revelation of Jay Ajayi and a dominant offensive line, the Dolphins no longer use Landry as much. While I think Landry is more than capable of becoming more than a short possession wide receiver, the Dolphins just haven’t figured out how to use him yet in their new ground and pound style. Until they do, I would avoid him.

The Wayniac:

Starts:

QB: No one has allowed more passing touchdowns this season than the Cleveland Browns. Ben Roethlisberger is a no brainer. Baltimore has been pretty decent against the pass, but Dak Prescott is one of the hottest QBs in the NFL. With Ezekiel Elliot making it near impossible to focus on one part of the game, allowing the Dak Attack to get loose.

RB: LeGarrette Blount has 12 rushing touchdowns on the year. The 49ers have allowed 13. Not sure you can expect a repeat of last week’s three TD performance, but he will see the end zone at east once.

WR: I like Tyreek Hill this week, especially if Maclin is out again. The Buccaneers have allowed 13 touchdowns through the air, and Hill is fast enought to contribute in different facets of the game.

TE: The Lions are the worst against TEs, so a lot of people will tell you to start Julius Thomas. I don’t trust him. He’s losing snaps to Ben Koyack, i.e. some guy I never heard of, and Gus Bradley seems to be endorsing him in press conferences as well. I like Jesse James. It’s a risk that Virgil Green will be fully healthy and claim the spot all his own, but the Browns have allowed nine TDs to the TE and Big Ben sure likes a guy who seemingly takes in every target thrown his way.

DEF: Detroit Lions. I went to Jacksonville this past weekend to watch my Texans play. The Jaguars were terrible at home. They’ll be worse on the road against another first place team.

Sits:

QB: Rivers and Ryan are on bye this week, meaning two teams will likely have their backup in there. Carson Wentz is hopefully not your backup, going against a Seattle Seahawks defense that has allowed just six TDs all year. Carson Palmer is also a sit simply because he looks like he is in the downward turn of his career.

RB: Detroit has been stingy against the run. TJ Yeldin and Chris Ivory haven’t been very good. Don’t expect either of them to be this week either.

WR: Terrelle Pryor has been red hot of late, but Steelers have done a decent job of keeping wide receivers out of the end zone. He could have a nice amount of catches and some yards, but won’t be dropping a mutli-TD day.

TE: Neither the Ravens nor the Cardinals have allowed an opposing tight end in the end zone this year. That being said, I will never recommend sitting Jason Witten, no matter the matchup, so I choose Kyle Rudolph. Yes, I do think the Cardinals are overrated, but they seem to do their job against TEs very consistently.

DEF: Houston Texans. I just don’t start anyone against Derek Carr and his high-flying offense right now.
